New publication
We are pleased to share that our paper "Towards modeling paper microstructures with solid elements: A framework for fiber network generation and mechanical analysis" has just been published in International Journal of Solids and Structures.
To support paper and paperboard as sustainable plastic alternatives, understanding the link between microstructural mechanisms and macroscopic response is essential. To address this need, a finite-element framework for generating three-dimensional, statistically random fiber networks using solid elements is presented in this work. This approach offers high flexibility in constitutive and structural modeling and represents an alternative to established beam-element-based network models.
