Start of International Cooperation in Sarajevo
From early May to late July 2026, Prof. Dr. Jaan-Willem Simon spent three months as a visiting researcher at the Department of Mechanical Design at the University of Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina. During his stay, he worked closely with Prof. Dr. Adis Muminovic and Prof. Dr. Mirza Pasic on shared research topics and potential future projects.
The main focus of the visit was professional exchange and the development of new joint research perspectives. Among other outcomes, initial concepts for collaborative research projects were developed and opportunities for further institutional cooperation were explored. The research visit marks the beginning of long-term collaboration between the participating research groups. Planned activities include regular exchanges of researchers and students, collaborative research efforts, and the joint submission of research proposals. This partnership aims not only to expand scientific networks between both institutions, but also to create new opportunities for international exchange and the joint training of early-career researchers.
