Room: HD.02.22

Lavakumar Veludandi is from India and completed his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering at Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM), where he was awarded a gold medal for academic excellence. He then pursued a Master's degree in Computational Engineering at Ruhr University Bochum (RUB), focusing his thesis on thermal-induced cracking in concrete mesostructures under high temperatures. Following this, he joined the research group of Prof. Jaan-Willem Simon to deepen his expertise in structural mechanics and multiscale simulations.

His current research focuses on Particle Reinforced Metal Matrix Composites (PRMMC). The project aims to develop a unified numerical multiscale modeling framework that integrates plasticity, damage, and failure mechanisms, enhancing the prediction of composite material behavior under complex loading conditions. This approach aims to eliminate the need for incremental analysis and advance the design and performance optimization of PRMMC materials.

In addition to his academic research, he has over 3 years of professional experience in software development. He has held roles at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Bosch Engineering GmbH, where he worked on application migration and cross-platform application development.
